Karla Jazmín García Antonio is an indigenous woman of African descent and the first woman in her family to attain higher education. Born in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico, she holds a degree in Intercultural Management for Development. She is a dedicated local and national activist with the National Network of Afro-Mexican Youth. As a student, she was actively involved in gender advocacy, championing women’s human rights and organizing women’s circles in the Zongolica Mountains and the Orizaba region. Her activism extends internationally through her role as a Next Generation Leader.
